Put advance configurations for both IMAP and SMTP protocols and hostname and port settings. Use TLS 1.3 or 1.2 only.
SSL is completely deprecated for security reasons

Let android outlook configure pop and smtp settings - the program is useless without it.

Outlook is useless with corporate mail. You cant change POP or IMAP settings like port or mail address. One tiny change in port or server and you have to delete and add account again???!!! Please add server settings for mail account again.

I need to set up specific port and SSL settings for an IMAP account in the Outlook app in Android. There seems to be no way to set that. Under Advanced settings, I can only set the mail server address.
Please provide this functionality as I can no longer access my Telstra Bigpond account.

still recommending clients to either use outlook app with another mail app that can handle plain IMAP servers or to rely completely on another email app altogether to deal with all email servers. how can MS overlook this?

SSL and TLS isn't supported by a lot of IMAP mail servers. most businesses and hosts we've dealt with do not employ this. that's why all other mail client apps support unencrypted IMAP. outlook is the only one that we've come across that doesn't.
