Proper search - in current folder, from sender, subject includes, key words, etc
Search function must enable search in current folder, search from a given sender and search words in the subject of the email. Ideally the search UI will be identical to the UI of the search in Outlook for Windows

Create a better algorithm for retrieving past emails in your search function. Oftentimes I have not been able to find specific emails despite searching by Sender name or content key words. I have tested to make sure it's not a user error, and I have found Outlook fail to retrieve a specific email that I can find by scrolling by hand for a long time, proving that it's not deleted. Also allow for the search option of searching EVERY folder, not just Inbox, etc. This failure has put me in tough positions with my boss; it looks unprofessional to "lose" emails, but I've never had a problem using hotmail or Gmail. Unfortunately my government job restricts us to Outlook so I have no choice. It's the most confusing, disorganized, inefficient email platform I've ever used. How has market competition not forced you to improve yet?

this app is very much incapable of doing tasks other apps do easily such as search in specific folders and filtering by sender

I often archive messages from retailers or surveys to get them out of my inbox, but allow me to still access current offers for a week or two from the archive folder. However, after that I want to delete (or permanently delete) expired offers / surveys from specific senders prior to a certain date. This feature exists in my old RoadRunner email (Spectrum), and was very helpful in pinpointing groups of messages I no longer needed in order to save space.

Search options for mails (keywords, sender based, importance based) or other segregation of mails should be more user friendly

search specific emails and once they've loaded, be able to highlight and delete them in groups. So we don't have to do one at the time on the main page of the inbox, and continue to the next page, and do the same until they're gone. Speeds up cleaning up emails, of one's you know you get an excessive amount of. if you don't check your emails everyday, to stay on top of them.
I also forget to check for responses from admin, when I ask for things. So I'll apologize in advance, if I miss responding to your answer. -

I'd like to be able to search for emails using a keyword and then to be able to select all results and delete at once. As far as I can see, it works with all other versions of Outlook.

If you can not search by sender in inbox retrieving only mails from the sender than the search is useless and frustrating. Why did you change this feature? It worked perfectly in the previous versions of the app

Unfortunately I don't see Microsoft responding to this request very well. They only seem to answer the less thorough forms of this request e.g.
"search feature doesn't, work, make it work like gmail and search through email text"
with their standard
"Please send this into the help and support section so we can help you there."
I don't see them responding to well versed versions of this request like this one, which can only mean they don't want to acknowledge it.

The search feature only looks for keywords in contact information. for example, if I type in the word "LinkedIn" or "video" it will only look for those words as words in an email address. It would be nice if the feature also gave you an option to look for keywords in the email itself. like if the message I sent or received contained the word "video," It would show up in the search results.
Just to clarify, I like the contact search feature, and would like it to stay, but it would be nice to have the option to have an additional option to search for keywords in the email text itself too.

Can we have a better search criteria whereby we can input several factors ('from', 'to', 'subject', 'keywords' etc.) for better search results? The same function that is offered on outlook web. Please help to include this into app version.

add a search feature, by sender and subject. I had this in my previous email system, and it was indispensable.
