I know you are closing tickets regarding battery life as bugs and not features, but Im gonna publish it anyways since it's literally been years since it was first reported to you and it' still a major issue.

Outlook uses allmost all cpu. Turning off contact sync helped. But after recent update the only remedy is force stop of outlook. I use outlook because my email server is exchange. Can somebody advise another email client that supporn exchange server?

As everybody, I have the same problem. The battery is drained and outlook is at the top of the energy consumption list. Please fix this.

Just had this happen with the latest OL update. Was running CPU at over 85% for 3 hrs straight and draining my battery to shutdown. Uninstalled OL and problem solved. I don't know what you did, but if you want us to use OL on Android, ya need to fix this.

Come on, guys - that is ridiculous - thousands of people tell you, their mobile battery is drained by your app and nothing happens. What is Microsoft doing???

I started having big problems with battery drain after I started syncing contacts via Outlook. I have since uninstalled the application and no longer have any problems...

Just downloaded the latest Outlook app on my Samsung S7. Battery gets very warm and drains at a ridiculous rate. This is a major problem and renders the phone useless. I can't even charge my phone in a reasonable amount of time because the battery is draining almost as fast as it can accept a charge.
This needs to be fixed quickly!

Same here. I'd like to use Outlook but it was murdering my battery life. Additionally the contacts don't seem to be stored in android's "phonebook ", so my car doesn't recognize or download them.

Fix battery drain/overheating battery issue with 2.2.151. I've contacted support and no update on when it will be fixed. I have multiple phones at place of business that people can't last 2 hours on phone before it dies and batteries are overheating.

After installing outlook as part of the work migration, battery was draining in 4-5 hours instead of normal 24 or so. 3 weeks of **** and finally in the last attempt managed to fix it. i did 2 things (not sure which one did it, but you can try one by one and see). So as work profile has separate contact app on my phone, i went to both (work and personal) Contacts apps, go to settings, under Contact to display, selected Custom and removed outlook email from the list (if you have contacts in outlook, move them to your google account). the last thing - go to phone Settingz, then to Apps, Select Outlook, in app permissions sections, disable permission for contacts. After I've done that - batter usage back to normal and on the day Outlook power usage is down from 35% to 4%. Hope works for you too

Why not fix the issue than contacting for free labour? The paid staff should take the suggestion, then fix the issue.
