Despite all the bug reports and feedback about battery drain, and despite Microsoft Outlook team's response is saying that this has been fixed, it's still not been fixed.
I just updated my Google pixel XL phone to Android 9 pie, and within an hour, the operating system's new adaptive battery feature has already quarantined or restricted the Outlook app from running in the background because of its excessive battery usage. This has meant that Outlook is also being restricted from showing notifications in real time.

Android Outlook is trying to sync over WiFi even if WiFi is turned off on the device (ie I don't permit my work cell to access wifi at home, at work I enable the cells wifi.
Nice work MS, why don't you just update you Android settings tab to enable/disable use of wifi instead of trying to control our privacy............ -

Go to bed with 97% battery and wake up to only 27%. Have to recharge several times a day, no prior issue then installed Outlook and can't keep battery charged for any length of time. Do not have option of uninstalling as work related.

Same thing here. I hace LG G6 and had to remove Outlook twice now due to substantial battery drain issues. So bad that at points Outlook drained my phone faster than I could chatge it. Thought it was a virus till I found it was Outlook. Once removed, issue ended. Reinstalled Outlook and issue returned. Started after recent update around a month ago.

I had to uninstall it and am looking at competitors. New battery was drained in 4 hours...now without the Outlook app battery lasts nearly two days. I have to have an email app for personal and business use...but it won't be Outlook anymore.

There must be more going on in my phone than I am aware of. If something is not being used, why is it using up my battery?

It is the 28th of June now and this issue is still pretty much live. Allowing contact sync will discharge the phone's battery in 2 or 3 hours. It is a very poor solution for businesses, please fix it ASAP

Moto G5 S Plus. Outlook was consuming 45% of battery life between full recharges. Decided to just block the app.

Samsung S9 battery app reports outlook uses 1.09% per hour in sleep. That's terrible. The next most consuming app on the list for battery drain in sleep is firefox at 0.04%. Big Difference.

Outlook's ''contact synchronization'' feature seems to be greatly involved in the battery drain. Just to see ... Try disable it ?

I would like to have the option to not have the program constantly checking forañ new emails, but to manually refresh the inbox, or at least have the option to do it every certain number if hours. It would save a battery and decrease those new email notifications

Omg fix this cpu consumption/battery killing outlook app. Yesterday my phone went from 100% to 14% in 6 hours. My other android phone without outlook was still at 75%. The screen was on for Less than 10 min each. There is definitely a problem here.

Unbelievable that Microsoft wont address this issue and they still advertise for it.
