Does anyone know if Microsoft has any plans to address the battery drain issue???

A recent update created a bug whereby emails that instantly loaded in battery saver mode will no longer load. One now has to turn battery saver mode off in order to read emails. This defeats the purpose of battery saver mode.

What is being done? Can we expect any improvements in the near term (1-3 months) or should we plan to transition away from Outlook?
Outlook for android using work account required 2 step is consuming so much of battery.
1. You are not allow setting of sync freq.
2. Your app is so slow comparing to native email app
3. Your app is not allow to sync calendar to phone central calendar and cannot be used with other widget. (which your app on calendar experience is so bad.)
I just dont have options to use other as my company adopt microsoft account and enable 2 step verification. I just think that I have so bad experience and when I search for solutions, others are struggling the same. So leave me the choice to use outlook or not doing work outside clmpany at all.

We have been forced to use Oulook App (Android) in lieu of Samsung Mail/Contacts/Calendar app as part of the lastest roll-out at work.
I am now not even getting the working day out of my Samsung Galaxy S7.
The Outlook for Android app needs to allow manual sync.
Reading through this thread, there are MANY that feel the same.
This app uses an absurd amount of battery. Our IT team is looking to potential competitive options based on the volume of business complaints
I hate the app mainly bcos of battery.
Usage from 1 day - Samsung Galaxy S8:
Active foreground use - 17 min
background use - 2hr 45min
App battery usage 9% of battery.
this is more than anything else.
for comparison, Gmail app is 2%

On my Sansung Galaxy S9 the Samsung Mail app never caused problems with battery consumption, but the Outlook for Android app uses 8-10% of battery per hour! It is continuously on top of the app list with highest battery consumption.

Outlook uses 158% battery over a week. What a resource hog. Pls fix!
To put it in perspective, it is exceeding my VPN app in consumption. Or atm a total consumption percentage of 7 - 8% of my battery within 5 hours.
the issue is that most email client can manage the frequency of email download, while outlook works ONLY in push.
There was a thread with hundreds of request to enablem manual email synce, but administrators deleted it
completed? A joke. This app is absolutely not optimized and should be banned from the store till battery drain is solved.
