Adjust what is Focused, turn it off and other modifications
Thank you all for your feedback! It is currently possible to turn the Focused feature on and off as well as adjust what is displayed in each inbox.
To disable your focused inbox go to your app settings> scroll down to Focused Inbox and tap on the toggle switch to turn it off. If you choose to re-enable this feature you will simply use these same steps.
To move items from focused inbox to the other and vice versa simply tap and hold on the email listed > Tap on the 3 vertical dots on the top right corner of the screen > choose the appropriate action depending on which inbox you are currently working with> you will then receive a pop up asking you to move only this message or this message and all future messages> choose your preferred action then tap move.
Having trouble with these features? Let our in app support team know by going to settings> help & feedback > contact support. We are here to help!
Thank you again for your support, we look forward to hearing more of your ideas very soon.
All the best

I do not receive emails from important correspondants anymore thanks to this new setting. ive reported this numerous times and have seen others do the same but as usual nothing has been done. ive been with outlook since my first email address in the early 2000's and im strongly considering jumping to a less cluttered, more efficient platform.

The other reason I don't want it in my inbox is because, when I see the first unread email in my Focus inbox that I want to read, a second later, just as I thought I've tapped on the first email, the Others line suddenly pops up, shifts my emails down, and I unintentionally tap on Others. So instead of opening the email of interest, I end up being inside Others.
Keaton Bracy commented
I purposely went through hundreds of emails and moved them to Other, keeping only what I want in focused, yet it continues to dump random emails I don't want showing in there. Automatic routing/machine learning should be opt-in, while having manual options to flag certain senders as focused instead for a better experience.

The focused inbox is a bad idea. I have missed important messages because it defaulted to it.

2 inboxes is stupid and takes me 2x as long to find anything.
