Password already changed on server, but Android Outlook fails to let me update it on my Android device.

My organization's password policy requires the password be changed quarterly. I don't see an option in the settings on the mobile app to change my password. Once I change the password on my computer, I need to also change it on my phone.

I need to be able to update my password in the app. as it is now, if i update my password on my PC at the office, i have to wait hours for this android app to fail before I'm prompted to update my password.
This means missed messages and lost productivity because this app can't handle password changes well.

We're a bit frustrated that when we reset a user password all other Microsoft apps effectively lock the user out of their account thus protecting company data. For example if the user clicks on a chat within teams, or a recent word document in onedrive etc. the user is automatically redirected to the brokerage app to log back in and if the user cannot login they are forced to sign out. The user doesn't get to see cached files or messages.
It would be great if the Outlook app acted the same way and blocked access to the app cache if it's protected by an app policy.
I know we could setup Intune management but if 95% of Microsofts other apps act one way EFFECTIVELY then I feel like Outlook should be the same. -

'outlook synchronization technology' is a joke. all email apps worked like a charm, now I have to use this, and it's just not doing basic jobs. ms exchange server does not work. had to shift to imap. cant change server settings afterwards, only if prompted by app. get random prompts to enter password again, without any changes. this is really ****** synchronization technology

clearly the integration with LAN password change is very poor. desktop outlook works fine but phone app causes lockouts by retrying the old password and seems to have no explicit way to log out and/or change it's cached password. while it's aggressively retrying the wrong password it not only locks out my AD account and locks out itself and other systems it also beeps annoyingly every few seconds.
