  1. Put back ability to move emails by groups to folders created under Inbox.

Outlook used to have a great function: one could move groups of emails with a single drag and drop into a folder created under the Inbox on the left side of the Outlook screen. It was one of the best reasons to have Outlook.

  2. Allow message list "hover" effect to be disabled

Please add a preferece setting to disable the highlight (turning gray) effect when moving the mouse over the message list in a mailbox. This is the rollover / hover effect. It is really annoying because of the terrible lag. I have a "tall" monitor in portrait orientation, and this highlighting is very, very slow and laggy.

  3. I suggest you allow users to vary the font displayed on the Outlook screen. Outlook 2011 was better

Users might be enabled to vary the font displayed on the Outlook screen. That on Outlook 2011 was better than the present compressed format.

  4. Allow Autodiscover Redirections to be set using AppleScript

You already allow to use AppleScript for Account autodiscovery like that:

autodiscover email address MyEmailAddress user name MyExchangeUserName

I suggest to enhance that feature so that one can also set trusted server redirections like this

    autodiscover email address "MyEmailAddress" user name "MyExchangeUserName" trusted servers {"autodiscover.mycompany.com"; "autodiscover2.mycompany.com"}

This would eliminate the GUI dialog shown to the user when the server redirected to is not already trusted.

you need to make better to update the security email on existing account when cannot access make possible to put on a new email listing or phone number and bring down the time when an account is closed from 2 months to 1 month the extra month is to long for some other matters to happen and when some is deceased all that is needed is to alert you at hq that the account needs to be closed you do not need to have other info to verify to closed a deceased account that is stupid and pointless and it…

  6. Assign a category to an e-mail, then retain that category after it is sent. Currently the category goes away.

In Outlook for Windows and Entourage, I could assign a category to an e-mail then send it without losing the category. In Office for Mac, the category disappears.

  7. Restore malware blocking on the computer to the Junk Folder

I am a long-time user of Windows OutLook, and used Office for Mac 2011 prior to upgrading to 2016. At work, we use an Exchange server with protection and AV to protect us from getting malware, and at home, I use Comcast email, with max settings to block malware set on the server. I also have an AV program on my Mac at home--but as you know (I assume) they don't touch OutLook. Even though the server blocked some email, I was still surprised how much malware and SPAM was blocked by the OutLook 2011 Junk Folder. Since upgrading to…

  8. Allow CSS style to be added to outgoing emails

I like the ability in Apple Mail and Thunderbird to be able to set a CSS style for the outgoing emails by adding the style tag to the signature line. This allows me to controll the padding above and below some items (in particular I really like to be able to have the space between a paragraph and its bullets below to be 0.

It would be awesome if this could be added in some way so that the outgoing HTML email had a style tag in it or the signature could be HTML and the style from that applied…

  9. Unread Emails Per Tab

Please bring back the feature that lets you see how many unread emails you've received today. This also works when you collapse all of your emails by today, yesterday, last week, two weeks ago, last month, etc. This helps when knocking out emails in your inbox because you can quickly see emails you need to get to by the time periods.

  10. Outlook - Emails Unreadable - Retina Display - El Capitan

I can't read e-mails. After update OS X to El Capitan, font was changed and e-mails unread (in bold) are unreadable.

  11. Open the oldest UNREAD message when opening a folder

I receive a lot of e-mail and filter it into folders using rules. In the past, when I opened a new folder to view the messages in that folder, Outlook would display the oldest unread message in that folder. In the new Outlook for Mac, the oldest message is displayed. This means that every time I open my inbox, I have to scroll past hundreds of e-mail messages to read the new stuff. This is very frustrating as I switch between folders and Outlook loses my place.

  12. Publish to GAL with office 365

Outlook for Windows has the function "publish to GAL". This allows for the public key to be automatically uploaded to GAL so that anyone in the organisation can use it. With Microsoft pushing for Office 365 for business, this would make in order to make s/mime work much more easily with the current tools.

  14. Switch to "Answer all" when answering a mail.

If you decide later to send the mail to cc recipients as well, you have to start anew :-( Apple Mail has the option to automatically include all recipients even after you started answering the mail, this is very helpful.

  15. suffix / company name display

Show the suffix or alternatively the company name when you type email address in the to field.
All my contacts have the suffix field populated with [Country-Company name]
In this way you see at once in an email if you selected the right person.
    in apple mail this is already implemented. You see BTW the prefix and suffix;
    Mr. Freek Mooij [NLD-Affirmed]

The other advantage is that you see in your inbox the company names as well.

An alternative would be to select in the preferences the fields you like to actively display.

  16. Add the Option to download mails in the specified limits similar to Windows thus the memory size of the inbox

This can reduce the size of my inbox which is huge if I sync all emails from my server. My Mac memory size is limited. While I can download the headers only, it is very slow to read the emails and need downloading the mail contents when I read it.

  17. Add Business Contact Manager as in Outlook for Windows.

This is an important feature for sole traders and small business users that don't require full featured CRM. Without it current Windows BCM users can be inhibited from transitioning to Outlook for Mac without using third party apps.

  18. Make Auto Format controllable and intuitive

The Auto Formatting of lists with Bullets is infuriating and non intuitive. Users need to control presentation. It is impossible to create a bulleted list and document presentation, using MAIL/Word. Users should have complete control in each document.

Type Bullet / Bullets in HELP , there is no return search result.

And while you're at it, type " i.e." into a document - it is painful.

  19. to allow the list panel to have simple columns to sort data, just like Outlook in windows

I want to get the 3 panels view: left, middle, reading panel on the right, just like on Windows.

I want the middle panel to have multiple colums: From, date, flag, title.

  20. Change the title bar color to red or gray when offline

There have been occasions where I have been using outlook offline for days without realizing it. I have had to get in the habit of checking the bottom right corner for the "Connected to:" text to verify I am online.

It is disastrous to receive emails/calendar events days after intended receive date, so having some type of obvious indicator that no mail is being received/sent would be helpful.
