Put the Favorites Folder in like Outlook2013 PC has
We need the Favorites feature in the list of accounts on the left just like Outlook 2013 for Windows has.
This feature is now available in Production: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/outlookformac/2017/07/11/production-new-sidebar-with-favorites-and-send-later-now-available/

I'm using the new feature of Favorite folders in Outlook for Mac 2016 v15.36. I think it's great but it's missing two features:
1. The possibility to change the order of the elements in the favorites folder.
2. Possibility of assigning a name or alias to show up in the favorites section, without renaming the folder.
For example, I'd like to have most of my inbox folders in the favorites section, but without the need to say Inbox in each one of them, I'd rather specify an alias.

Feature not available in 170613 Fast Build either.

Installed fast build 15.36 (17608) and the favourites feature did not appear.
Thanks for the very welcome addition - although I have to request adding Smart Folders to favorites as well (or repositioning Smart Folders group)
I have uploaded the Fast Insider update which adds the Favorites feature to Outlook. However, the Favorites folders do not stay fixed at the top of the page, which is how this feature works on Windows. Please address this issue asap. As it stands, adding a folder to Favorites is pointless!

You can't manually sort the items in the Favorites folder? It's default on alfabetical orde.
I've updated to Fast release... I'd suggest a slight tweak - Favorites should not be scrolled with other folders, but should remain visible like in Outlook for Windows.
Paul F, that is exactly what is needed!!! Having this feature back makes navigating between folder so much more efficient. Please lock the favorite folders at the top so they will not scroll.

Please correct me if I am wrong. I upgraded to this release and I do now have the option to add folders to the favorites section (at first I was excited). Then as I scrolled down to more folders the favorites section disappears. In outlook on windows the favorites section / pane is frozen in place. So as you scroll down to folders way down the list you can always go back and click on your favorites without having to scroll back up. That is not the case in this new release. As you scroll down the favorites section disappears and you have to scroll all the way back up to it to get to those folders. In my opinion it kind of defeats part of this feature? Is there a way to make it frozen or stay in place as I scroll as outlook for windows does?
Thank you for adding this feature! One of the nicest features with the function in the PC Outlook is that it's frozen at the top of the folder list. As you scroll through your folders you can still have access to the favorites. Can you add that to this feature?

This feature is crucial and so heavily used by so many users. When will MS be updating Outlook for Mac to include this? Thank you kindly for your consideration.
Is this planned to include Smart Folders as well in favourites?
OMG New Release has Favorites!!!!
You added this feature however you cannot add shared mailboxes to it. This is a must.
I am struggling with the features on Mac.... Microsoft has a lot of catching up to do....
SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS:
Favourite section in folders
Import contacts from Mac Address book.
The ability to choose the ORDER that email accounts appear within the folder section
Probably a lot more.... but these are the main areas....
This functionality is very important. Please address.

Jep, there will be even more pressure towards this if All accounts inboxes are combined into one: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_officeinsider-mso_mac/insider-fast-outlook-for-mac-release-notes/a0b8df0d-f09b-4bae-b94f-3e790fc78af3

I am happy with my Mac for all sorts of reasons, but the lack of a favourites folder in Outlook drives me mad. The recent change so that Grouped Folders has gone - as Tony Morgan has commented - has made a bad situation much, much worse. I have hundreds of Received and Filed folders for work and now have to scroll over the lot of them to get to my gmail inbox. It's a nightmare.
Tony Morgan commented
If any of you are using the Fast Beta version it has gotten worse. They have removed Grouped Folders which normally allow you to see all Inboxes together. This is now a change in Design and all inbox messages are piled together in one folder unless you scroll to other accounts to view the inboxes separately.
