Improve formatting: bring back the ruler and the pilcrow to visualize formatting
I thought I was going nuts and not able to follow simple instructions offered on other help forums. Till I found this and realised that (eh-hm) it's not me; it's you. Absolutely mystified as how this could be seen as a sensible functionality deletion for the 365 version. You want us to pay annual fees for an "improved" online version - instead of a one-time outright purchase - yet you reduce functionality? Top marketing strategy there...
Can you provide a (really frikin' good) reason as to why this negative change was made to the functionality?
My sentiments reflect redundancy to those that preceded me. Can't fathom why "show ruler" removed in the first place. Please bring back. We're a corp user of Office 365 immersed in the full suite daily.
Why would you ever remove the ruler....??? I'm dumbfounded by why you remove functionality because you can.

I cast 3 votes for bringing back the ruler.
I use it extensively for formatting on my Windows version,
but, for what its worth...
I figured out on the Mac that I can also create a table and align the text in each cell the same way I could with the tab designators on the ruler (for the most part; can't align on decimal point or bar).
I agree that it's more work to create the desired tables and fuss with the alignment, and I still want the ruler and all of it's functionality back, but at least I have a somewhat plausible work-around using the GUI instead of the pop-up Paragraph...Tabs... options - worthless in my experience,

Please bring it back. As a a general comment, also state in your release notes not only new functionality or bugfixes but mention also functionality that has been taken out.

I became very nervous by looking for way to use what I used regularly : the horizontal rule for alignment and tabulation when composing a email message with Outlook for Mac.
Please, bring back this fonction !

We need a ruler in Outlook 365 for Mac. It's silly not to have all features of Office for Windows in Office for iOs
Ich würde gern die Funktion der Lineale senkrecht und waagrecht in meinem Outlook für Mac nutzen können.
Bitte verbessern Sie das Programm entsprechend.

I would like for both the horizontal and vertical rulers to be available on Microsoft Office programs. I've just moved from a PC to an iMaxbookair, and so far there are many things I'm missing that were on the PC version, but this is the most important. PLEASE--move this correction to the Mac version.
PLEASE add the ruler option in Outlook 365 for Mac. It's so helpful, and I used to use it all the time.

Please put the ruler into Outlook for Macs. It can't possibly cost you anything to do that and it is so helpful when composing emails.
please bring back the ruler...
Please bring back the ruler bar in Outlook 365 for Mac. Miss it greatly. It is a pain to first put the doc in Word and then to paste it into Outlook. thanks for your ear.
We have the pilcrow in Word for Mac. It's the ruler that's missing. Honestly, Microsoft, what's the deal? Is it too difficult of a control to program on the Mac OS?
Its absence does impose a significant handicap when it comes to preparing attractive and effect emails. Making user right-click, select Paragraph then the Tabs button to blindly format tabs seems so backward! (Using that Tabs feature without the ruler is like selling us a sports car with a manual six-speed gearbox without including a clutch; it's functional, just not as efficient or fun to drive!)
Please incorporate the ruler soon!
