Please bring back the categories feature in Outlook for Mac.
It difficult to filter out the information while on the Calendar, Notes, Task or Contacts.
At least give the option to filter by Category on list view and collapse group like in Windows Outlook.

It's frustrating that the Mac version of Outlook doesn't enable you to filter tasks by category. I recently switched to 'New Outlook' only to find that the tasks module isn't avaiilable - you have to use ToDo. But the ToDo app doesn't even how your Outlook categories, never mind allow you to filter on them. So I had to switch back to 'old Outlook', where at least I can see my categories, and sort by them. But filtering is such a basic function - I do hope they enable it.

Why remove the best feature you have?

+1 filtering by category is part of my workflow. I'm a college professor teaching many classes per term. I use a different category per class to visualize date-related information.

+ 1 to all the comments begging for categories to come back. Also, please bring back Inbox, collapse categories (ie collapse groups for date / sender etc ..).

Why, why, why does Microsoft insist on removing functionality from the Mac version of Outlook and leaving it in the Windows version? Surely it is just a matter of coding the solution native to the OS? I am not sure if it is some mistaken belief that Mac users will decide to switch to a PC, or maybe it's a legacy of the conflict between the two companies. All it results in is a poor and frustrating experience for your customers. And the conclusion from that - particularly now there are new email platforms like SuperHuman, Humm, and Spark that are far more user-friendly and free services from Google that replicate all the core Word, Excel and PowerPoint tools - is that Microsoft does not care about its customers and it's time to port to another solution.
You no longer have the dominant share of voice or monopolistic dominance in software platforms so need to sort this out. Become more customer focused and delight us, not annoy us.

So, we decided to remove the most useful feature of calendars, being able to categorize and hide things that don't need your attention. Thanks Microsoft.. 🤦🏻♀️

I have been working with categorizing emails in my inboxes in order to use it as to-do-lists for the day (urgent, follow-up, etc.) for the past 10 years and find now (too late) that the feature is not available in the new updated Outlook for Mac. WHY? This will make my work so much harder as I am now overwhelmed with hundreds of unsorted emails and struggle to find another way to get organised. I will have to buy a PC, but for now, can you just bring the feature back?

Just upgraded my Outlook and found out that this feature is not available. I have tons of invited in my calendar and it's very hard to manage calendar without filtering. This is shame - please bring it back!

I have 1898 contacts under a multitude of categories and it was a simple direct way to get each individual or overlapping groups to work on all at once.
Please put Categories back the way it was!!
I would go back to Outlook 2016 but you are not supporting it anymore. It is that important to me. I have not yet seen one improvement that means anything to me. Why spend all the time and money change colours of the little icons we click on!
Not impressed yet with the changes. -
