Add Search Ribbon permanently
Add a Search Ribbon permanently beside the Home Organize and Tools Ribbon.
Yes! Yes! The search option should be PERMANENT ribbon feature and not something that disappears which then involves unnecessary key strokes to bring it back.
One of the most widely used features of any email app is search, why this option does not have a permanent UI presence is just such bad design.
It's absolute stupidity to exclude this ribbon and menu item as a static toolset for the users. In case the Product Managers at MSFT aren't aware, searching for email is something that people do ALL THE TIME.
To require a user to manually invoke a search is such a bad idea, you don't do it in your Win version! And the answer provided by your support rep that search "uses Spotlight on Mac and it's by design that it's not a ribbon" is the lamest answer I can imagine.
First, the engine behind the search has NOTHING to do with your use of it on a ribbon.
Second, this is a function that is used more than most,
Third, this adds even more support for customizeable ribbons in Outlook. If you had anyone with minimal talent in engineering and software development, I'm sure you could do it, but you probably don't

Currently the Windows Outlook Client clears the search when the Inbox is clicked in the left pane. This is a great workflow feature removing the need to close or clear the search by clicking the round X or "Close Search" in the tool bar. I request this feature be added to Outlook for Mac.
Add a visual indicator and control on or near the search bar that is always visible when in a search. This control can be used to cancel the search at any time. Something that makes it clear you’re currently in a search and also makes it easy to close the search.

Yes this is my request as well. Much better to have the search fields and option on the ribbon visible all the time, instead of key strokes to open it up
