Add a button or checkbox to disable an account
When I have a number of accounts, and I need to disable one (maybe temporarily, maybe permanent), I need a button or checkbox to disable that account, so it will not try to fetch mail for it when I hit send & receive. I don't want to delete the account, because I need the mail, an may need to activate the account again later. It should be easy for Outlook to avoid checking mail for accounts marked as "disabled".

I have an inactive work account that still need to access mails on. I want to stop Outlook from trying to send/receive email from that account, but don't want to delete that account because we still access information contained in those emails. There only seems to be the option to completely delete that account, which in turn also deletes all of those emails. We don't want to delete the emails, just stop outlook from trying to send/recieve from that account because we get an annoying reminder every time.

If you did this one small thing, my life would be ten times simpler.
This was an important feature in Outlook 2011 for Mac and earlier. It should be implemented in Outlook 2019, too. If you like me share accounts with a colleague the only way to do this conveniently is to delete the password (which is a poor workaround to handle the situation).
I'd love to be able to make each account active/inactive as necessary (I work frequently with many clients who each require their own Outlook account for me to use).
YES, please reinstate this feature!!
In previous Outlook for Mac versions, I could simply select a check box in the account setup window to include or exclude an individual email account from the send/receive; additionally, the send/receive icon itself even had a drop-down list so I could select which individual account to send/receive.
Outlook 2019 does NOT have either of these very useful features - only send/receive for ALL accounts. Note that the Windows version of Outlook allows email accounts to be grouped and groups can then be included or excluded from send/receive - but this is NOT available on the Mac version.
Come on, Micros-wtf - this is a backward step! REINSTATE THESE FEATURES!!

Provide the ability to disable the sending or checking for email of an account that one does not have access to any longer without deleting the account. This allows keeping of the emails for reference.
Yes please, kinds nuts it's not already a feature, only option is to delete an entire account
The same for me !!
I really need this feature in outlook 2016
