Allow preference be set to 'keep source formatting' when pasting
Presently copy/ paste replaces formatting with the destination styles. It would be very useful to be able to select 'keep source' as the default rather than the other way around.

When I paste into an email I usually want to keep the formatting of the email, not the one from the copied source. However, the default paste option is 'Keep source formatting' and cannot be changed, so I need to paste, click on the clipboard icon, select 'Match destination formatting' which is cumbersome.
This is an available configuration option in the Windows version. -

I have NEVER had a need to paste with formatting, unfortunately pasting text-only requires 638 extra clicks.

I'm using Mac Outlook 16.15. When I paste, it always keeps the source formatting. I have to go to Edit > Paste And Match Style to have the pasted text converted to destination style.
Did something change in Outlook since the original suggestion was posted?

This happens also when pasting in an email signature that e.g. has different font sizes
