Change the highlight color for the current day
Problem: On the calendar when I am viewing/editing content on a day other than today that day is highlighted on the 30 day calendar on the left side of the window. On my Mac that highlight is so faint it blends in to the white background. Today's date is clearly highlighted as a dark blue circle. But the day I'm currently viewing is a very faint grey that I can barely see.
For example: If today is the 16th, that day on the calendar is highlighted in dark blue. And if I am adding an appointment to the 18th, that day is highlighted in a color that is very close to the white background. If I quickly scan the calendar I would think I was editing an appointment for the 16th, which I am in fact NOT doing....
Suggested Solution: Offer a highlighted date color that has more contrast and does not blend in with the white background. Allow the user to select the highlight color or shade of grey. I searched the system and could not find the option any where.
Please fix this. Hunting for the current day or meeting routinely is a HUGE waste of time for us.
This really needs to get fixed.
I suggest that you offer a feature that grey's out the days of the week that aren't today in the weekly view.

I came here to make this suggestion. I've been using Outlook every day for a long time, yet I still have to stop and pause every time I look at my calendar to register what appointments are today versus other days (the blue dot over the day at the top is not enough). I've even have had a few mild panic attacks in the process, thinking another day's appointments are happening on the day I was looking...
When looking at the calendar in weekly view, it's almost impossible to visually distinguish what day it is today. This is where Google Calendar does such a better job than Outlook. On Google Calendar, the days other than the current day are greyed out. On outlook, all you have is a tiny red bar. Visually, when I look at my calendar I can't tell what day it is. My eye immediately goes to Tuesday because that's when I have the most meetings but actually all those meetings are over. Why aren't they greyed/faded out in some way? I shouldn't glance at my calendar and think it's Tuesday. The eye should draw you to the current day, which right now is Friday.
I want to see quickly the current day in a certain (customizable) color.

I want to tell automatically what day is today. I see the blue bar over a meeting and I automatically think that I am missing something, but it is something for tomorrow or yesterday. Not nice.
please add function to change search highlight color in outlook 2011.
