Add read receipt feature to outlook for mac 2016
Add read receipt feature to outlook for mac 2016
We are happy to announce that this feature is available to all O365 subscription users with 15.35 (170610) or later build.
Please refer to our post for details:
WHY is this ONLY to users who are O365 users? Why when my company buys the software outright do we not get Read Receipts? If you can do it for O365 customers, you can do it for those of us not on O365...but I get it, it's a ploy to make more money by making us pay annually or monthly instead of a one-time fee. But the Read Receipts are not the biggest tool everyone uses so why not just turn it on?
Please add the read receipt feature!
I don't think so, I have so been totally lied to when I purchased Outlook.
Stop fobbing us off and have a genuine fix for this please. Not impressed at all. I would expect far better from Outlook.
you will see a little word seen at your email that have sent to them to see if they have seen it
There are next to ZERO third party applications that enable easy, thorough email tracking on Outlook for Mac yet there are at least 10 good options for Gmail. We are simply asking for the most basic of them all - enable READ RECEIPTS - and despite the other 100 benefits we forgo on incredibly useful email tracking applications on Outlook for Mac, this one basic function would be enough to suffice! yet now I will HAVE TO go to GSUITE so that I can no when my leads open their emails! so simple yet so important to your paying customers!!
Still no read receipt feature for all Outlook users. Standard feature in all other email platforms, even the most basic. We are forced to use Outlook for work purposes, hence get your 'A' into 'G' and add the simple feature already.
It is not.. this is a lie.
I urge you to immediately assign the task of implementation of above mentioned feature to two of your best teams and roll out this feature - this time genuinely - for ALL Outlook users, be it O365 or not.

it is a total scandal that outlook users need O365 to enable this basic/standard feature... considering switching to apple mail
I have 16.17 and no read receipt in options. Come on . Been waiting for this for several years.
Seems archaic!!!! I NEED READ RECEIPTS!!!
highly disappointed that THIS is still an issue so many years later .... and yet another let down of this option not available. seriously, how hard can this be?

I have been in contact with Microsoft support about my Outlook 2016 fro Mac not having a read receipt option. My email is forwarded from my Comcast mail. Previously. I had an old Dell system with Outlook 2010 and read receipts and mail recall all worked.
I upgraded to an iMac Pro with Outlook 2016 for Mac and these features no longer work with my same Comcast mail account.
Your support person tells me that I must upgrade to Outlook 365 and Comcast must use Outlook 365 mail server for these features to be available.
I don't understand why it all worked before my upgrade, and why it won't work now!!!
This feature is STILL not available(Ju10 July 2018) so "We are happy to announce that this feature is available to all O365 subscription users" as stated by the Mac Outlook team on June 20 2017 is just a plain LIE
Such a vital OFFICE tool not being available for Mac,, along with so many other features available (for YEARS) to Windows users just reinforces that the Mac Outlook Team, or Microsoft as a whole really don't give a toss about their customers

As described above.
How hard can adding this feature be? Why is such a basic feature still not available after all this time? We Mac users feel cheated by Microsoft ..

Hi there, I just purchased Outlook version 16.13.1 (180523). If I understand right, I should have this feature.
Instead I don`t, which I find very annoying and offensive.
Why? Anyone please advise what can I do in order to solve this

Why can't I have decent working software in 2018- Office for PC had read receipts before the iPhone existed yet still they can not offer Mac desktop software with a read receipt feature?? I feel like Microsoft office will be obsolete in the near future. I realize technology growth is changing the world, but I refuse to subscribe to another cloud service -this is significantly increasing the price of software costs anually and puts our confidential documents and works at risk by ANYONE who is able to access it legally or not- our information is safer if we were to protect it on our own cloud based service and significantly cheaper. Im very frustrated that all companies are forcing us in this direction where our documents, personal information and data can be analyzed and exploited without our knowledge or explicit consent. These cloud based services are paid for by us- but then they collect and use our data and information to exploit us with marketing or whatever means they have of tracking us digitally and seeing it or using it for their own gain. It would be one thing to voluntarily give feedback as I am now, but it's another to track us and sell our information to 3rd parties for even for more profit. There has to be a better, more efficient, more secure, more private and cost effective way of having decent software that we are accustomed to. I think its time to find alternatives to these dinosaurs. I just spent 2500 bucks on a half decent Mac computer and now having to purchase all new expensive software or subscribe to a bunch of ridiculous services that makes everything I do more vulnerable. This is ridiculous. I don't trust you.
