Mark calendar invites as read after accepted
When calendar invites are accepted, they revert to unread when going into trash. Mark invites as read if they are acted upon. This has been a problem since 2012 or earlier. now outlook for mac 2016

For anyone looking for a work-around:
There is a settings if you go to File > Options > Mail, under category "Other", that allows you to check "Mark messages as read when deleted". -

agreed. I find this annoying. I like to keep my mail unread as much as possible and seeing something unread makes me check my trash and open the response message.

HA, even after marking the calender invite as read, it becomes unread in the Trash. Guess it a feature not a bug 😂

I do not want my calendar invites to go to trash even post accepting. I keep my invites in a separate folder so that when I need to perform searches I can do so easily. Please fix this issue so I don’t have to move the invites from trash! Thank you

Some emails are automatically sent to 'Trash' by mistake and when "Don't mark as Trash" is requested, it's never recognised, those emails from the same email address automatically end up in Trash......and so it goes on!!

This bothers me as well. Please fix the functionality to go into the deleted folder as read. Every single time I accept a meeting invite I have to go into my trash folder and re-read the email to mark it as read.

When reponding to an invite, Just mark it as unread in Inbox and do not send it to Trash folder unless deleted.
