Option to disable “quote only selected text on reply” feature
If some mail text is selected, only that text is set in quote part on reply. This behavior is not very convenient for me as a longtime user of Outlook for Windows desktop.
I want an option to disable it and let Outlook behave like Windows client.

Hi all, as of release 16.21 it is possible to disable “quote only selected text on reply” in Mac Outlook. Go to Outlook/Preferences/Composing and uncheck the
“Only reply to selected text” box.
Thanks for your support!

This is really annoying and you have to go through the standard procedures to make the job even more important.

If you're still stuck with an older version of Outlook which doesn't update, go to this link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdates/update-history-office-for-mac and download the update manually.

This Quote Selected Text feature is one of the dumbest ever from Microsoft! I've been using Outlook for over 20 years and I can't remember once where I needed to use this feature, AS OPPOSED TO quoting the entire original message!!! This is pure stupidity, on the same level as a Roku remote not having a MUTE button. I mean, think about it, the end result is that you have just "tampered" with the original email from someone else by truncating it in your reply. And the worst part is that Microsoft didn't give us an option to turn this off?!

I'm at 16.16.9, joined Fast Build and still cannot get to 16.21. The post above was dated Feb. 7, suggesting it was available almost two months ago. What gives?

What a headache. I just spend a few hours trying to fix this issue for one of our clients. I guess she was highlighting text by mistake and that was truncating the message on every reply.

Also stuck on 16.16.8 (190312). Is there a way to force the update?

16.16.8 (190312) is the version I am on. Office update reports this as the most current version. So, not sure how I can get to 16.21 to fix the issue?

Looks like it's implemented in 16.20. Check Outlook Preferences > Composing > bottom option.

Come on MS, fix this, it's in the top 20 ideas, and in my opinion one of the top frustrations of the product.

Has this ever been implemented? This is the dumbest feature ever as I always highlight things to copy and paste in a browser or elsewhere then I hit Reply and ALWAYS have to go back and unhighlight the text. This is the DUMBEST FEATURE EVER and NEEDS to have a BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF NOW!
Microsoft please advise ASAP on when this will be implemented in OUTLOOK FOR MAC.
