Yes , Tables are really needed in the corporate email environment. This is crucial for the product to be successful.

The previous thread about formatting was closed because there have been some tweaks to Outlook. The changes are way short of the features requested in that thread.
Outlook on a PC has the ablity to use Word to edit emails, this would be the optimal answer to this perennial problem.
Failing that if we are forced to use a bespoke editing tool for the Mac, my top formatting wows are:
1 - Insert tables! This is something we could do in emails 20 years ago.
2 - Fix the copy & paste. When I copy text from one email to another the pasted text nearly always changes to a much bigger font.

Why is it that after all these continuous updates from MS, we still do not have 'Table' creation and/or 'Insert Table' in Outlook 2016 for Mac when we compose emails? Very disappointing!

I suggest you include the "insert table" option. This is a fundamental feature for Outlook!

Ridiculous that this is something to be "voted" for. I understood that MAC had more user-friendly features than PCs. Therefore, i purchased a MAC book Pro Obviously this is NOT the case. Something so very basic as a table???? How could this be an "add-on" to be voted for? How very condescending! We are serious users who deserve at least the basic capabilities. What's so complicated????? What is really behind this? (Transparency is the honorable way to go.)

Add the ability to create tables in the body of emails. It is impossible to make nice looking newsletters without the table feature. This means a ruler function is helpful too!

Is it a new business practice of microsoft to randomly remove features from their products? Is microsoft testing customer's patience and tolerance to frustration? Or does it simply became ruled by profit-centric goons absolutely incapable of thinking beside the wallets of their corporate masters?
Microsft is becoming an utter dissappointment after another, and I am done. I am deleting everything microsoft from all of my devices, and actively recommending everyone I know to do the same
