We need to be able to create, modify, edit, and format tables

Table creation and editing support is available starting with our January Release!

I just got my first Mac and can't believe that there's no facility for inserting tables in emails. It's disheartening to see that this is a long complained-of issue as well.

Disappointed to learn that such a basic feature is not supported in outlook for mac. I see it as a major setback. I am very sorry if it is intentionally left out.

I have also migrated from Office 365 on Windows to Office 365 on Mac and I can't believe how far behind the Mac version is. I assume this is down to rivalries since there could be no technical explanation. Very disappointing behaviour from Microsoft... if only someone would offer a decent alternative!

It's not only about this feature. There are many more feature missing in Mac version of Office compared to windows. These are must have. Sometimes it feels like microsoft is intentionally trying to limit the functionality on Mac to make sure users stay on windows.

agreed. I create my table sin excel and then copy and pastes but once you do that you are not able to edit the cell or table widths or the cell or row colors! Please add this urgently!
