  1. Add keyboard shortcut for Close Search button, or have the current alt+command+F shortcut close the search

Alt+Command+F will open a search window, however there should also be the same (preferably) or similar shortcut to subsequently close the basic or advanced search dialogs. Often after finding the message/thread you are looking for, you would like to quickly close the search and move on to processing or composing messages. Currently as other users have expressed, the search box is inconveniently located all the way in the upper right of the window which adds friction to the user experience.

  4. Autodiscover does not respect "remember my settings"

Our server is sometimes incorrectly set and tries to redirect to an intranet address when connected from the extranet.

The autodiscover settings offers to allow/deny this, and manually selecting "Deny" works, but the dialog keeps appearing several times a minute.

Checking "remember my settings" seems to enable the "Allow" option, rather than the opposite. If "Remember" is checked and "Deny" is pressed, Outlook will stop complaining but also stop connecting, as the autodiscovery process will overwrite the current settings to invalid ones.

  5. Open messages

I would like for Outlook to keep open messages open when I need to relaunch the program or restart my computer. Now it closes all open messages when relaunched

    Hi there,

    I'm using Mac Outlook 2016.

If most of the options tab on New Mail are persistent configurations, why not to appear in Preferences/Email?

    It's more intuitive, I think:)

    Regards,

  7. Support for monitors in portrait mode.

I use two external monitors in addition to my MacBook. One of the external monitors is rotated 90°.

    1) Even at 1920 x 1080 the calendar view still scrolls. It would be nice to see the entire day. As is, I can't even see the entire workday!

    2) Also, I haven't been able to reliably reproduce, but there seems to be a stickiness issue with the Reading Panel for the Inbox. It frequently disappears when I switch between the calendar and the Inbox or between mail folders. It seems like it may have something to do with the height of…

  8. Project Management from Outlook

It would be great if Outlook considers Integrating a basic project management feature within Outlook that would allow to set targets and allocate tasks to colleagues through their calendars, send reminders before due date and show completed tasks. Won't it be great to bring together everything in one place.

  13. Please stop forcing layout changes on users.

As a long time user of Outlook, I appreciate the time, money and effort that has been put into application development. Overall, I think Outlook is a much better application for all of the updates and changes that have been made over the years. Lately though, I have become increasingly frustrated each time I apply an update only to find that my customized layout has been changed. I am all for change but I would much prefer to have new options presented to me in a way that I can choose to use them, choose how to use them or…

  14. Outlook should go offline automatically if there is no Internet connection at all

If there is no Internet connection at all (i.e. no WiFi connection), Outlook generates errors every time it tries to send email. Ultimately, I have to spend time clearing these error messages when I'm already well-aware that I have no WiFi.

  17. Display yammer groups like office 365 groups

Since Yammer groups now can have Office 365 groups. Pls show those in the nav pane in Outlook.

Also, when accessing those groups within the Outlook client, pls show the yammer thread native (outlook) within the Outlook client. Quick fix, open up the thread in yammer directly in the outlook client.

  20. Allow to add Office 365 Groups into Outlook Favorites

Allow to add Office 365 Groups into Outlook Favorites. The new Favorites option in Outlook for Mac is awesome. I wish we could add Office 365 Groups to this section.
