The New Outlook
The New Outlook seems not to support email.
When I click on it I get: The following accounts and items aren't supported and won't be available in the new Outlook.
It then lists all my email accounts, IMAP, POP, Gmail and Outlook plus On My Computer folders

The New version of Outlook should handle IMAP accounts
For those of us who use lots of IMAP accounts, the New Outlook will be a disaster. We will be cut-off from Emails. Also the On your computer saved emails has gone away. If this is close to the final version then Apple Mail is the only solution. Please fix this.

Compose new/reply - has to go into new popup window
Please make a setting that composing new emails & replies is done in popup window, rather than in-page. Literally everyone I know writes multiple emails at the same time, not just one, and people pop-open some old emails to drag stuff into new emails they are writing. Forcing me to click the icon to pop out the window is just ridiculous.

Looks very pretty, but seriously lacking needed functionality
The New Outlook really needs to be a fit for purpose tool, its lacking so many important features that it is impossible to use as is.
- Lack Imap (and POP) support so using with anything other than a main 365 account is impossible.
- Lack display of shared mailboxes
- Lots of Addons not working / or even displaying (Citrix Files in my case)
After this I stopped looking further - its a total non starter without these basic functions. Just a pretty skin that doesn't work.
So my idea is - Get it working with basic functions then push to the…

The bottom Status bar missing
Switched to new Outlook (Mac) and switched right back! The Status bar at the bottom missing. Can't see the number of mails in the active folder or the last sync time/status.

Support local (on my Mac) storage of email files
Hard to believe, but the new Outlook doesn't support storing of emails locally on my Mac.
The old Outlook (Outlook for Mac v16.42 does support email stored locally. This is a critical feature which you've dropped.
What were you thinking Microsoft??? Are you trying to drive me to a non-Microsoft email client? It sure looks that way.

Give back the option to choose text encoding under Format tab. It is greyed out and it is set to automatic.

Set Reading Pane to light/dark mode as default when Switch Background is used
When switching emails/views in Outlook, light mode set as background doesn't stay as a default option and reverts back to dark mode.

Please try to add attachments to the original email in the responding messages.
Folks send me email with attachments, however, these attachments get buried and potentially lost to "untrained eyes" if they do not know to revert back to the original message. Consider adding attachments to the email chain. That way if I send a message containing attachments to 3 people and people do respond, others can still see the original attachments.

Add icloud email support back to Outlook for mac
In the earlier versions of the new outlook for mac it supported icloud email just fine and then it was completely dropped. Please add support back.

Build a connection between Sharepoint and Outlook.
We use Sharepoint as our document storage. When I create an email in Outlook I am unable to attach a document from a Sharepoint folder.
Likewise, when receiving a document (ex PDF) I cannot save it to the correct document folder. Which means that I have a temp storage on my Mac where I save a document before attaching it to an email or saving it to a folder.
The problem is the same whether I use the online Outlook version or the application on my Mac.I can open an office attachment and then save it to an online…

Add a way to specify the default "folder" when doing Address Book searches in Outlook.
In Outlook for Windows, I can specify the default folder/source to use when searching the Address Book for a contact. The Mac seems to be missing this feature. When I open the Address Book (either directly or clicking the icon when composing a message), I am always taken to the company directory (we have Microsoft 365 Business Premium). I would like to set the default for searches to be All Folders (which should probably be the default setting, anyway). I should be able to select any one of the folders as the default search source.

Update badge icon without opening outlook application
Before the newest Outlook update the badge icon would update to tell me how many emails I had waiting without having to have the application actively open on my computer screen. With the new update this no longer happens. The only way the badge icon updates is once you open the application.
I liked before having the notification on my desktop to tell me I had emails waiting. The same way it works on my phone to tell me I have a notification.

open mails from display dialogue on mac
With a dialogue popping up based on filters, Mac user needs to close the dialogue and open the subfolder to read the mail.
This is quite annoying in contrast to Windows implementation where the mails can be accesses directly from the notification dialogue which again lists all display dialogues in one pop-up window43 votes -

give the option to configure the action icons on the email lines
The current look allows me to remove the columns that display the action icons that allow to delete or archive the email on the focussed line. The "New Outlook" does not allow that, and places those icons in the middle of the line where I click on them by accident all the time.
