While I can create a new Inbox Rule, it's not possible to run this rule against all messages in my Inbox already that match the criteria of the rule.
Is it possible to update this to be more akin to the Outlook / Exchange inbox rule engine?
Broke my inbox rules - When I was upgraded to the new version (which is slower than the old one in my opinion) my inbox rules were mostly broken. Some appear to have been deleted and others don't work anymore. Previously you used to be able to create a rule on the display name and not just on the exact email address the mail is from. This appears to no longer work and I have no way to get mail from bulk mail services out of my email box. I try to do anything from the bulk mail address; however, that doesn't appear to work. Rules are so important and if these don't start working I'll have to look for another platform.
I LIKE THE 'RULES' I NEVER SAW IT BE CALLED ''RULES'' UNTIL NOW. MY DAD ALWAYS SAW IT CUS HE USES THE PROGRAM, OR WHAT THE KIDS CALL IT 'APP' FOR OUTLOOK.
I CAN'T FIND THE "AND ALL FUTURE EMAIL FROM__________" WHEN I WANT TO MOVE STUFF.
I THOUGHT IT USED TO BE EASYER TO MOVE LOTS OF EMAIL AND NOW IT'S HARDER.
THIS IS GETTING BETTER, BUT NEEDS THE GOOD OL' WAYS
MOVE -> "AND ALL FUTURE EMAIL FROM__________"
JUNK -> "AND ALL FUTURE EMAIL FROM__________"
BECAUSE RIGHT NOW I CAN'T KEEP THESE JUNK SPAMERS OUT.
IT USED TO BE EASYER.

I like the idea of auto responses for particular messages. I would use an auto response to let others know I have received their email and will get back with them asap or I could customize the time frame accordingly.
It would also be nice to have better filters for the incoming mail. I want to create my own folders and filters. For example, If it comes from ebay or any shopping company or app, I'd want all those to go into a shopping folder.
I could come up with tons of ideas if I sat and thought about it but I want keep you:) Thank you and have a great day!
The old system let you create rules one time and all the items listed were then immediately moved to the folder you selected. Now, I have to create a thousand rules 250000 times a day because the rules don't stick. This is utter BS fix it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All inbox rules to do sweeps of emails currently in the inbox

I would like to have the Settings->Options open under a new window. This feature would allow me to check with the emails and at the same time allow me to frame rules and apply simultaneously on the Options Page.
I found that my account lost predefined rules for incoming mail.
Is it only issue for my account?
I am also cannot use my Windows Live Mail application anymore.
What happened to "Manage Rules"?

Syncronize the rules for clean-up. I.e. a rule made on the desktop is valid in the web-version and visa-versa. In fact just run the rules in the cloud so things are sorted before they hit the desktop
Give an option to make inbox rules retroactively apply to all emails already received or only emails in the future. Not sure how much use it would get...
Cap the run time or make it a premium feature if you want idk.
It would be nice to be able to create a rule for emails that marks "unread" messages as "read" when the message is unread for a custom period of time. This way, only recent messages from subscription emails (e.g. Microsoft Rewards, clothing stores sales, etc.) will still be marked as "read", while old messages are automatically marked "unread"

Alocate the old messages in the new folders when a new rule is set
I would like to 'make rules' in folders like I was able to do in the old Outlook. In my opinion, the old Outlook was soooo much better. Please, please, please help with this issue.

Can you make it so that Inbox rules monitor the entire inbox for messages already in the inbox? They now seem to apply only to new incoming messages, and I can't even seem to write new rules to clean up my inbox and move messages to folders.

Can you all please add a feature in Outlook Mail that will allow me to add a rule to more than one email? I'm trying to categorize my emails to default to folders and I'm having to select one at a time which is time consuming. Also, it would be nice to delete by a group of emails by who they are "From" in bulk. Thank you and nice job with the upgrades. ;-)

Please make it so that when you create a rule, there is an option to "run the rule now" like there was in the old Outlook. Thanks!
I've lost all of my rule for my messages and when I make a new rule it doesn't stay in affect. Stop changing things that weren't broke and put it back they way it was thus new format sucks.

Hi, I find it very confusing to setup message rules such that I can filter emails into specific categories (e.g. Tech; Political; Music etc). I think it would be great to have a very quick means of setting up rules; perhaps a new icon? I've tried to setup and manage rules but have found it very difficult to find these options. Thanks a lot. All the best.
At the prior version, it was much easier to manage all the rules we created.
Now, I'm unable to change the rules I created before.
One more thing, you, guys, should offer us an option--at the rules-- to omit all the categories it comes in the e-mails: for example, "Newsletter" or "Document" or "Photos" or "Groups".
I would like to have an option to include it in the rules.
Now, how can I manage all the rules as before?

I have mail going into different folders, and from many sources. So instead of creating a rule for each source of how long to keep each email before deleting, I would like to apply it once to the folder so all emails inside will be deleted after a certain amount of time, such as 1 or 2 months.
