Custom Spam Filter and Mail Blocking
Add the ability for users to create custom "rules", which automatically block or flag emails as spam. For example, "I'm a Nigerian Prince", "%%%VIAGRA%%%".
This would be particularly helpful, seeing as spammers use many different email addresses. Blocking one sender doesn't really solve the problem.
This could be enhanced by automatically detecting key phrase(s) in an email, when a user flags an email as phishing or blocks the sender. Outlook could then suggest the user adds the phrase(s) to their block or junk filter, to ensure their Inbox remains clutter free.

Why cant I block spam email coming to my junk mail?
There is no point allowing us to block specific senders, as they send form a million different addresses. Filtering by specific words (and you could offer a package of the most obvious filtered words, based on comments here) is far more useful.
... and the specific word in the subject, etc. I know I can do it for the other folders by making a rule for unwanted mails, but, in some reason, I can't do it for the Junk box. Sometimes my non-junk mails end up in the Junk box (even after I registered them as Safe Senders), and I'm rather fed up with going through the piles of newly arrived junk mails to find them. I noticed the junk mail senders tend to use same/similar domain names, and I want to block them even before they reach to my Junk box.
if the address of spam has pharmacy, canada, viagra. then I'm 99% sure it's spam. why can't your filters do the same and block this ********?

I would really like to be able to block emails coming in, by using keywords. If the email has a specific word, or words in the subject line, it automatically gets blocked.
please give me instructions on how to block certain content, such as viagra, pharmacy etc from senders which use new accounts all the time, simply by incremental numbers....
thank you very much
When setting up rules for mail redirection or automatic deleting, it doesn't seem to include a rule for 'word' in 'the name of the sender'. I am still getting emails trying to sell me viagra for example.

There should be a way to include wild card characters to Block Senders List. For example: takealook*.xyz, instead of having to enter many iterations of the same domain name to stop Junk Mail.
How about allowing users to block incoming emails by subject matter. I am sick of having to screen out the constant spam mail and particularly the raunchy spam that I would never venture to one of these sites.
There has to be some way MSN can do a better job of stopping these kinds of **** on Hotmail and the premium accounts. You are always asking for ways to improve your service and this is a particularly good subject.
I am also particularly piqued about these people spooking my email by making it appear the emails are coming from my email address. I certainly would not send myself ****.
How can I permanetly block all these trashy messages re: hot Russian girls, Asian girls. invites for ***. viagra, cialis, and host of other very offensive ****** emails. I do not click on any of them except to mark them to block. They just show up under another email. If this is a problem that you cannot fix, I am going to have to go to another website for emails. This is ridiculous. I am using the strongest method of junk mail you have. I get the trash but my friends and family get sent to junk. I don't want these messages to get through at all...for any reason. I am 68 years old and a widow. I am not looking to "hook up" with anyone of any *** or national origin. My husband was a full time pastor for over thirty years before he passed away...please make it stop. When I block one, it seems like I get five more in place of the one.
I have to go to the junk mail because the things I want automatically go there regardless if they are in my contact list or not. If you cannot help, just be honest and I will move to another site. Thank you from a very frustrated senior citizen that is pretty naive at would like to stay that way.
Add Block(s) to incoming mail based upon Sender and/or Topic based on words or parts of words.
Current blocking by sender ip address is useless since they change them constantly to avoid your blocking.
There is so much "Crapmail" that finding legitimate mail from businesses or new contacts is getting impossible.
Please remove all emails pertaining to:
a way to permanently block emails containing words like casino, viagra etc etc
Is there some way you could make a "phrase" filter for junk mail. Such as... "Dr. Oz" or "Mortgage loan". If it is in the title, just screen it out? That would be awesome.
Also, anyway to screen out crazy email address. Such as. "di94u9xk8ieyhdk83i478294@........com"
Those are my only two suggestions.
These changes you made to Hotmail are driving me nuts. With Hotmail, I was able to set up a "message rule" that if the subject stated a specific word, I could block it. Now, I cannot. I am getting SOOOOOOO sick and tired of getting these "pharmacy" (mainly viagra) emails EVERY time I open my mailbox. Bring back message rules.
I AM GOING TO SEND THIS SAME FEEDBACK REGULARLY IN THE HOPE THAT IT WILL TRIGGER A MECHANISM IN MICROSOFT TO ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Microsoft please re-introduce the method for us (your customers) to control which emails come into our accounts, including the Jjunk/spam folder, by letting us BLOCK CERTAIN WORDS AND/OR PHRASES like we used to be able to do. The option you currently provide to block email addresses is a Dodo because it only blocks "that one email address. The spammers just come back with another concocted email address that is not even in the proper format but gets round the system somehow - it's never ending and infuriating. We might as well bang our heads against the wall. Please Microsoft bring back the blocking of words/phrases to empower your users to be able to control what comes into their email account. I myself am receiving multiple spam emails every day now, wanting to offer me a date/***/tablets etc as well as the common ones like youve won a prize etc. I have now started receiving ones including the F*ck word. It just goes on and on and on. Please do something Microsoft.

Junk email often comes from multiple addresses so that it cannot be easily blocked.
If there was a filter to block messages by their title or subject heading, it would be much easier.
I am plagued by emails titled 'Adult Dating' which seem to come from various addresses all over the world ?
There should be an option to automatically delete any email that says "Viagra", "Cialis", "Canadian pharmacy" or any of the variations anywhere in the email so that we never even see them. Filters aren't working. I'm still getting multiple spam emails a day with those as the subject.

Since spammers are able to send Junk email to us utilizing our own address and we obviously cannot block our own address, you should enable us to block mail with certain topics or themes.
