Delete older emails than x days for folders
Now, there's sweeping function "Delete older emails than x days" possible only for categorized emails or emails matching predefined filter. It would be nice to implement this function under folders (like in Exchange). Categories are not shown in other (mobile, desktop) clients and we have worse control under this process. Moving emails to folder with "auto-delete" set (some kind of pre-trash folder but still searchable) makes better control under sweeping.
Please stop automatically removing emails from previous to 2 weeks ago. I was unaware this was even happening and now i can't access any of my pay slips.
Why the **** would you make this an automatic set up, and not an optional one? i want to be able to see ALL my emails, not just up to a week and a half ago.
be able to delete messages older than a selected date
I'd like to delete all emails older than 1 year
I'd like to be able to delete "sent mail" that is older than a certain date or number of months. Is there a way to do that already? If not, please consider that.
Please make it easier to delete old emails such as all emails older than 1 year.

Get me out of here
why messages are not for good deleted even after 30 days?
WHY DON'T YOU GIVE US OPTIONS ON HOW LONG WE WANT JUNK MAIL BEFORE YOU SEND IT TO TRASH, I THINK IT'S 10 DAYS NOW, I WOULD LIKE MINE THROWN OUT AFTER 2 DAYS

Hey Guys, love the new functionality built into Outlook - filters etc......WOOHOO! However, I Hate having to type my email EVERY SINGLE time I login, plus I want my browser to remember it, so that sucks.
My idea for cleaning up the inbox - I need to be able to SELECT or DELETE everything Older Than xx/xx/xx date, or older than 1 month, 3 months etc. Deleting one page at a time is very slow and there is hundreds of MB of stuff there wasting your storage. Lets nail it!
Cheers, Heath ))
There is no way for me to delete old emails.
The Sweep command let's me delete emails older than 10 days, but I want to delete emails older than, say, a couple of months.
I can select everything in the folder, but if I try and unselect the newest emails, the buggy UI unselects the older ones. The buggy UI also prevents from selecting an email, then scrolling way to the last email, and SHIFT-clicking the last item to select everything in between.
The only way I can delete old emails is by manually deleting them in groups of about 40 or so. This is a big effort if you many hundreds of old emails.
I would like to be able to be able to automatically delete files from specific folder(s) once the files are "X" days old.
Remove deleted items after a set number of days. On logoff is too soon, and that's the only non-manual option at present. 30 days would work for me - but it should be a user defined parameter as each user is different.

Option to delete emails after 30 days if they are unopened by then.
It's a hassle to log in every week in order to save e-mails that have mistakingly been put in junk-mail folder.
More options should be available: manually removing and an option that let you decide how many days or months should pass until the clean-up of the junk-mail folder.
Folder Auto Purge - 1, 7, 30, 180, 360 days setting
Keeps folders clean with only latest data.
I would like to stop the automatic deletion of my emails in the deleted folder after a pre determined time .//
Sometimes my inbox has all these special offers from companies I signed up to. But when I don't want to take advantage of these offers (and they expire), all they do is clog up my inbox.
Create a rule in the settings menu that lets you delete, move or mark as read an email that is either received or opened after x amount of Min, Hours, Days, Months or Years.
IE: After 7 days from when I received it, based on when it was sent, my Best Buy email with this weeks deals is deleted out of my inbox (because they are no longer valid).
I currently do this in my other email using a script. I would like to see it native in the web version of outlook.com so I don't have to setup a client, download my inbox, run a script against it and then sync it back to outlook.com .
If you would like to discuss this more, please feel free to contact me.

PLEASE restore the ability to set the interval you can trash something. 10 days is too short. Bills come once a month. It worked great when we could edit rules to 30- or 60-day intervals.
And what's worse, we use to have that ability and you took it away. That makes it doubly as annoying.
I have used Aol mail, Yahoo, gmail. I think your email program sucks. So you move Junk mail to a Junk folder great! They all do that. How can you just delete Junk mail after a few days? Think everybody has time to review their junk mail folder everyday? or every week? I don't. Now I find that some messages that I needed were automatically deleted and are GONE. Thanks a lot, ********.
I miss the automatic delete function after a period of days in both the junk and deleted folders. Is this decision permanent or just a temporary break over the holidays? I'm been deleting manually in both folders as I was beginning to trip over old e-mails.
