Delete older emails than x days for folders
Now, there's sweeping function "Delete older emails than x days" possible only for categorized emails or emails matching predefined filter. It would be nice to implement this function under folders (like in Exchange). Categories are not shown in other (mobile, desktop) clients and we have worse control under this process. Moving emails to folder with "auto-delete" set (some kind of pre-trash folder but still searchable) makes better control under sweeping.
Delete messages older than X days
My Junk mail is not always deleted after 10 days--for 2-3 wks now I have to do it manually. Can u explain why?

offer an easy way to delete older than 30 day messages , only
I'm sorry to say this but your spam filter sucks!
So many of my really important emails are being marked as spam. The worst part is that you guys delete the spam emails older than 30 days? Are you crazy? Either have a really good spam filter and if not, at least don't delete the emails so soon! And this is not a new phenomenon. IIRC, it has been happening since 7-8 years. Even my college admission letters were marked as spam!
Looks like, currently I need to setup a reminder every 15 days to go through junk email and mark messages that are not spam so that they don't get deleted.
I am no longer able to create sweep rules that delete old messages from certain folders. In an older version of Outlook, I was able to specifically create a rule that, for example, would delete all messages older than 30 days from my Ads folder. Some time ago, however, that functionality seems to be removed. After doing some searching, I read that only administrators can create those sorts of rules using retention policies; the end user is only allowed a few basic functions using the sweep toolbar.
Please return complex sweep functionality to the end user. Removing useful features and reserving them for administrators just makes everyone's life more difficult. Thanks.

Regarding Sweep: Would you please add back the option to "Delete messages After 30 Days or 60 days"
That would be very helpful.

Users should be able to create a scheduled process to delete accumulated messages from their Deleted folder (as opposed to just one process built by staff).
I would like the option to automatically delete emails older than 2 months old.

I don't like how you have removed the option of "delete this message after x days/years" for the rules in sweeping messages. Please put this option back or tell me how to do it in the new format of Outlook!!!!
I miss the old option to have email newsletters auto-delete after 10 days, or delete everything except the newest one.
having the same problem, i have e-mails that have been deleted from my junk folder automatically because outlook doesn't let us decide how long something stays in our junk folder before we decide its safe to delete. ridiculous!!

Delete old emails from INBOX by from date to date. i.e. 31/12/2015 to 31/12/2016
The same for Sent box

I have a camera set up in my house - it pings me emails and pictures of movement - which is really nice when i go away on holiday - peace of mind.
The emails are generated at quite a rate.
I'm not sure how much storage I have on Outlook - but I don't want to overfill my quota.
I am looking for a rule that will automatically delete emails older than, say 90 days, from a specified folder.
At the minute the only rule I can have on Auto Sweep seems to be before or after a certain date - which isn't very useful for this.
I need a rule that will continually move the date so i have 3 months worth of these emails safe - the older ones i can move to junk/delete
How to get back my junk mail that automatically deleted by outlook?
I have important email dated 31/5/17
Please can we decide when emails are deleted from the junk folder, as I also lost my pay slips after they were automatically deleted from my junk folder after 10 days while I was on holiday. I did not have time to move them to my inbox.
Can you please allow users to decide if their spam/ junk email are automatically deleted after a period of time.

You need someone to make outlook more user friendly. I want to delete everything older than 7 days and there isn't an option. I get so frustrated using outlook that I sometimes forward everything to Gmail because it's more user friendly
ok, this is more of a complaint than suggestion. The new version of outlook.live.com took away several nice features: In the past:
1. I was able to define the number of days to keep the email before sweep deletes the emails. Now it's either keeping the latest or delete emails older than 10 days.
2. The sweep was performed in all email folders. Now the sweep only delete emails in the Inbox.
What happened??? I used to LOVE sweep. Now the feature is so limited, it's not even worth it!

I would like to be able to create a `sweep` rule which deletes any message in a folder after x days. I have a rule to send messages to certain folder. I would like a follow-up sweep rule to remove any message in that folder, not having to match on an email address.
Please stop automatically removing emails from previous to 2 weeks ago. I was unaware this was even happening and now i can't access any of my pay slips.
Why the **** would you make this an automatic set up, and not an optional one? i want to be able to see ALL my emails, not just up to a week and a half ago.
