Hotmail outlook incorrect email source UI and formatting vs old ui
Hotmail / Outlook online still shows the incorrect header information in multiple ways, this needs to be fixed since it been hanging around for awhile and makes it a pain to report email source to 3rd parties for reporting. To be truthful how could anyone working on this at Microsoft miss how this should work like all the other mail mail display email headers let alone the old UI did work correctly and was broke in the new UI.
1. Enter your email account via web browser
2. Select a email and select the View message source option ( Icon )
3. Select all, copy and exit the email source pane
> Here is where multiple thing are wrong:
1a. create a new message and paste the email source into it
> You get a picture of the email source pane with the source in it ...
>> It should only be the email source text ( this broke in the new UI )
2a. Open a new text document in your Computer ( in your Windows OS )
> Paste the email source and then scroll to the top and and view the contents
>> The email source now contains the text in the main body of the email and it shouldn't the start of the pasted text should start with the email header, ie: Received: from VE1EUR01HT073.eop-EUR01.prod.protection.outlook.com and not the main body text, this is not a properly formatted email source with the text from the main body before header source.
> Review the email header format
>> Many times the header source is incorrectly displayed so if you copy and paste it into a 3rd party program it has no idea what it is since it's not formatted properly
This all worked in the old Hotmail / Outlook UI, you could copy and paste email source into 3rd party spam reporting like spam cop and it worked just fine and now it does with the new UI, you have to hand edit the email source.
The email header used to be able to be parsed in spamcop for Mailhost configuration, this used fine in the old UI and then it was broke, you can no longer config your mailhost ( https://www.spamcop.net/mcgi?action=mhedit;authcode=cISJC8ezkdpU7Dzk )
I don't understand how this all used to work in the UI and was reported by a number of people and took months to fix, it was a universal format style used by many of the mail apps and hosted sites and somehow someone let it slide by as I guess it works.
