Organization of outlook folders (Using Hotmail on Mac): As things work now you can add sub folders to a folder, but the problem I find is that those new sub folders are indented under the main folder, not “inside” the main folder.
Here is the problem with that: The folders are displayed as a list on the left hand margin of the Outlook page, each addition to the list makes it longer and longer until it is virtually unmanageable for quickly finding the folder/sub folder you’re looking for.
Where as. if folders could be put inside folders that would be a boon to the organization of emails and replies. Keeping in mind that in virtually every other folder usage on the computer, folders may be placed in folders, in folders, in folders, how ever many layers of folders you want/need...to your hearts content, and suiting your personal requirements.

Is there is a way to change the location of a folder?
It will need to move contents from folder *** to a more appropriate place. There does not appear to be an easy way to do this. One can create a new XXXYYY folder in new location and try to move content from the current *** folder to the new XXXYYY using the "Move to" folder menu. However this is prone to confusion because the "Move to" menu does not show a folder directory tree.
If I used the "Move to" pathway, my first *** folder will need to have temporary name. After I move content from *** to a new folder I will then need to delete *** folder and rename the temporary folder to ***. There are many steps that lead to confusion.
Even if I did this, I still do not have a way to locate my missing/misplaced folders. See comment about Gmail below.
If there is currently an easier way to find and move folders? If so, please send instructions.
If not, please ask the Outlook.com team to try to develop a way to do this. Lost or misfiled folders are a major problem.
The Gmail system has a dashboard for changing folder locations. It is very useful and very easy. Please check out the Gmail model for changing folder location.
I am a loyal Microsoft fan. I still use a Microsoft phone. Best Wishes for the Holiday Season and 2019. Thank you for your help (Go Microsoft!).
I need help putting my folder list in a straight line. It is staggered and some titles are almost not visible! It would be great if there was some info on how accomplish this as it is Very annoying.

Add ability to re-order top level folders using drag and drop (right now they always end up being moved to a sub folder of another folder)

Somehow my RSS folder was moved to my deleted items folder, so that all my RSS feeds are now in the deleted items folder:
Please figure out a way to fix this, so that my RSS folder is not in the deleted folder anymore.

I would like an easier way to organize my folders.
What happened to the feature where you can set up a frequently used folder and click on it. It was next to the flagged option, trash... etc?
I want my other account to go into an existing folder like it used to. That no longer exists. I end up with a bunch of folders with nothing in them and which I don't need. I wish I could organize my folders the way I would like to see them -- the ones I use most at the top.
I have four drafts stuck in the draft folder. I can't get rid of them. Once I delete them they keep coming back.
This new update is worse than any others in the past... Ugh!!!!!

My son showed me the solution.
Left click and hold the button on each folder and drag in up to the INBOX as if you wanted to merge it and release the mouse button. It should appear vertically in the Folders list. If you want to have some folders grouped together as subfolders (which is what is happening at present) drag the second, third etc to the first folder in the list and they will stack slightly offset below the first folder of that group.

yes i have an idea: make hotmail less fuking annoying. you can't even organize folders anymore. when i tried to just make a new folder and transfer the emails from the old location i could only move 5 emails at a time. hotmail is going downhill...
