Adjustable column width
It would be great if you could let me adjust the size of the columns in my inbox. Currently the 'sender' column takes up more than half the space on the screen. This isnot ideal, as I do not regularly have senders that would be of such a length to utilize all of this.
It would be better if I could see the subject and more of the message preview than a lot of blank space for the sender field

Ability to customize column widths (example: between Inbox list and reading pane, ability to enlarge Inbox column while reducing reading pane area (when reading pane is to the right of Inbox list)
It would be great if I could "permanently" customize the width of the "Folders," "Inbox," and the actually email. I would like the option to narrow the first two and widen the email pane.

Love the new look! Clean and sharp. Bravo!
I'm currently using a 27" 1440p montior and a QHD+ XPS13.
I would love to be able to resize and move the date column to the left hand side rather than on the FAR right when using a full scree browser window.
Also perhaps and a floating preview of the message on the empty space on the right upon hovering over each email line.
More and more people are getting high resolution laptops and monitors and all that estate is wasted on one long subject line.

Can the mail boxes be flexible so that I can see the entire Subject of a message? I want to be able to change the width of the columns to make that happen.
My vision is rather poor and I usually have the Zoom set at 150% so the message text is large.
However, the message area width is smaller than it could be, because the advertising column at the right side of the screen takes up 2 .5 inches and is not reducible, nor can it be eliminated. This greatly reduces the usable text area for messages.
The previous version of Outlook permitted adjustment or elimination of the advertisement column.
Please look into giving back control of this column to users like me.
Thank you for your consideration.
Left side "Folders" column takes too much unnecessary width.
Means I cannot read much of the description line of each email.
And what is that stupid waste of space over on the right side - where the "Help" column pops up.
I wish it could be got rid of so the subject lines of the emails can be elongated.
Please make the width of Folder Column, Subject Column and mail display column more flexible and adjustable.
You can also add a magnifier toll for mail box for ease of viewing pictures embedded in mails.
Layout is horrible for Outlook Mail. I can't see the full width of the messages. There is a wide column for the mailboxes and the list of messages, and now an add in the right column that hides half of the email message. Can you add an option to make the other columns narrower so I can SEE MY MESSAGES??
1. Please return the button at top right of reading pane to enlarge said pane by eliminating the Inbox pane.
2. Please return the navigating arrows in reading pane so that you can navigate between mails without having to resort to selecting individual mails when they are adjacent in list.

Allow me to close [collapse] the left column with a mouse click.

I'm a busy person. I donb't have time to go and figure out all these "great improvements".
I use to be able to get rid of the different columns so that the email I needed to read took up most of the page. And I could do this in my email, without opening another window, etc.
Now I can't figure out how to do this.
Really. If you're trying to help me, tell me how to still do what I used to do but now in your new "great improvement". That 's all I need to know.
This is as annoying as when they move stuff around at the grocery store. I don't have time to go find the product that used to be "right here".
Please make these changes easier to get through by helping me find the "new way" to do what I used to do.
I do not like the new format. It is not user friendly and it takes up too much space. I need to know how I can resize the columns so I can see everything on the page. Also, I did not download an Outlook mobile app so I do not know why I have it on my desk top computer.

The Help screen takes up so much space that I can't read my inbox entries.
how can I minimize the column on the right that says "Help"?
Change the presentation back to the old format. The current design is harder to read with the split screen. Just to many moving parts and to much bulk. Simple is better. It use to be so plain and easy going. What happened. Many times, in an effort to change for change sake, we lose focus. Somebody goofed this up. I make many decisions but I listen first and change only when it is necessary. This is a generation thing I am sure. Do a great job with what you have and only change if it is broke. Lin

The right pane takes way to much space out the reading your email experience. Hotmail was better about this, use that as a reference in terms of what made it a great service, that Outlook fails to accomplish.
Like the new inbox, except for the elimination of pages.
Is there a way to resize the columns?
I would love to see a compact layout. Being able to put the subject AFTER the name would be nice. I would also like to be able to change column size.
I want to be able to move the widths of the columns in the list view so I can see the date. Currently, no matter what I do under settings, I can only see the month of the date. I want to be able to make the column of the senders name narrower and also make the subject/preview text column narrower.
